Don't accept this invite on WhatsApp, it can hack your phone

With WhatsApp launching its video calling facility last week spammers have decided to take control of the facility by creating a fake website.

WhatsApp users began receiving an invitation spam message that reads, "You're invited to try WhatsApp Video Calling feature. Only people with the invitation can enable this feature". On clicking the link, users are directed to a webpage where they are given an option to download the feature. And once you click on the link, it takes you to a website, which appears to be believable though it is a spam.

Even to the most observant of the techie's the webpage seems to be highly promising.

And when you click on the 'enable' tab, you will be directed to a new page which requires user verification. You would then be asked to share and invite four other friends to enable this feature through the same link. Too many clicks on the page attracts yourself to spammers and hacking.

The right way to enable video calling feature is to update your WhatsApp app through your Google Playstore or Apple Store. As soon as it is updated, the feature will be automatically enabled on your device.
